Feb 2020: 2 more hospitals use DeltaScan in routine care
Utrecht, 2 Feb 2020
Thirteen hospital departments from the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium are participating in CLEO (CLinical Evaluation Of DeltaScan). This international Clinical Evaluation Program is led by UMC Utrecht (Prof. Dr. Slooter), together with consortium Partners Charité (Prof. Dr. Spies) and KU Leuven (Prof. Dr. Milisen).
In 2019 CLEO started already. All staff (nurses and physicians) from the participating departments made a.o. delirium e-learnings, did delirium protocol checks and got a delirium checklist/protocol refreshment course. Then they enrolled in the control phase, in which the usual delirium checklists were continued to be used for detection and monitoring of all patients at risk of delirium.
In February 2020 another set of hospital departments enrolled in the intervention phase of CLEO. This means that they use DeltaScan in stead of checklists for detection and monitoring for delirium in their patients.
University Hospital Leuven (B) geriatric traumatology and Elisabeth Tweesteden Ziekenhuis (NL) geriatric traumatology department started the intervention phase in February!
